The History of the Villa
Villa Belpoggio is a historic residence built in the 17th century on the ruins of an ancient medieval watchtower.
The Villa was used as a country residence for the families of the Florentine nobility.
In the twentieth century, it was left to the monastic order of the Servite Friars of the Santissima Annunziata of Florence who used it as a residence and a place of meditation and prayer.
The complex was later returned to the property of an Italian family that invested in its restoration under the aegis of the Ministry of Cultural Heritage. The villa is part of ADSI, Associazione Dimore Storiche Italiane (Historic Italian Residences Association).
